Fake Bands, Real Prizes
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008
According to Variety (which ironically only covers the entertainment industry), MTV recently placed an ad on Craigslist looking for contestants for a game show where “bands” compete using the video game Rock Band 2.
Producers are searching for “four people to form their own band and show us their stuff live on stage for the chance to win the Ultimate Rock Band Experience.” The show is being produced by Mark Burnett, who also did The Apprentice, so the show is apparently legit.
I can’t think of anything more exciting than watching a group of people play video games on a television on my television. Oh wait, maybe people jumping through holes in a wall. No. That sucks too. But maybe I’m just bitter that no one ever bought my game show idea: Zaxxon Showdown.
